Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail's Unmatched Launch Success Despite Initial Glitches
The launch of Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail overcame initial hurdles to become a crowd-pleaser. Despite issues with server congestion during the early access week, the game has enjoyed a successful launch, thanks to the remarkable support from fans.
In a recent announcement, Naoki Yoshida, the director and producer, revealed a pleasant surprise when the game achieved record-breaking concurrent users across all platforms following the release of Dawntrail. He added this success was unprecedented since the launch of 'A Realm Reborn' in 2013.
He began, "Gratitude is due to all players for your understanding and cooperation during the early access period of Dawntrail." He continued, "Your tremendous support enabled us to achieve a peak user number, a milestone we haven't reached since 'A Realm Reborn' was released in 2013".
Adding a feather to its cap, Dawntrail was the first expansion to be available on Xbox as well as PlayStation and PC.
Further, Yoshida apologized for the numerous issues the players might have faced that could have affected their overall experience with the game. He assured that issues were still being thoroughly investigated, and the development team focused on implementing fixes rapidly. The team plans to make necessary adjustments to a selection of jobs, most notably Astrologian, Monk, Viper, Pictomancer, Red Mage, Black Mage, Tank, and Samurai.
Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail can be played on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC.
